Nitro RC Cars

You made up your mind, you want to get into the hobby but don’t know yet if you wish to go for an electric rc car or a nitro rc car. On this page we will try and clarify what nitro rc cars are.
Nitro rc cars can be expensive to purchase initilally. Normally nitro rc car kits will cost more than electric rc cars, both types of model categories will share similar looks and applications, it is really just a matter of preference.
Our most popular nitro rc cars are the off road models. Nitro rc buggies, rc truggies and monster trucks are less demanding when it comes to surfaces. Off road nitro rc cars are more adaptable as you don't need to find a stretch of smooth tarmac to be able to run them. Your garden or local park will do fine! Having said that, on road rc cars are much more technical if you plan to compete or have a rc circuit near you.
Nitro rc cars are generally more expensive to run and maintain than electric rc cars. Even if you buy RTR (ready to run) kits, in most cases you will need to purchase a glow starter (to warm up the glow plugs and ignite the fuel), nitro fuel (and fuel bottle) and batteries for the remote control and servos. You would also (eventually) need a set of compatible tools, oil, grease, glue, threadlock and spare glow plugs.
Like for any other kind of model, it is always a good idea to build your own nitro rc car as it would teach you a lot about the mechanics of the model, making subsequent maintenance jobs a much easier task.
